Determination of cations on organic molecule in the liquid crystal materials by ultraviolet-photolysis-ion chromatography

英文摘要A new method for the determination of cations on the organic molecule in the liquid crystal materials by ultraviolet(UV)-photolysis-ion chromatography was developed. During the process of UV-photolysis, the influences of the addition of H2O2 to the sample that was used as oxidant and the acidation of the sample on the peak responses were studied, the removal of the organic molecules in the liquid crystal materials was also investigated. The UV-photolysis and determination conditions were optimized. And the results of photolyzed sample, sonicated sample and the sample directly dissolved in water were contrasted. The results indicated that there were five cations, Na+, NH4+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, in the liquid crystal materials sample; the addition of H2O2 and the acidation of the sample hadn't any influence on the peak responses of the five cations, The contents of the five cations in the photolyzed sample were 3.5 similar to 19.7 times and 10.6 similar to 46.6 times as high as sonicated sample and directly dissolved sample, respectively. The monovalent cations such as Na+ , NH4+ , K+, got their highest responses when the UV-photolysis time was 1.5 h, as to the divalent cations Mg2+ , Ca2+ , it needs 2 h. The recoveries of the 5 cations were between 71.5% and 107.6%. The method was available for the determination of cations on the organic molecule.
