I2-Catalyzed diamination of acetyl-compounds for the synthesis of multi-substituted imidazoles

英文摘要An expedient and straightforward synthetic route to substituted imidazole derivatives from amidines and ketones catalyzed by I-2 has been reported. The reaction proceeded smoothly, and a series of imidazole scaffolds were produced in good to excellent yields and 100% regioselectivity.
