First measurements of J/psi decays into Sigma(+)(Sigma)over-bar(-) and Xi(0)(Xi)over-bar(0)

| 英文摘要 | Based on 58 x 10(6) J/psi events collected with the BESII detector at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, the baryon pair processes J/psi -> Sigma(+)(Sigma) over bar (-) and J/psi -> Xi(0) (Xi) over bar (0) are observed for the first time. The branching fractions are measured to be B(J/psi -> Sigma(+) (Sigma) over bar (-)) = (1.50 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.22) x 10(-3) and B(J/psi -> Xi(0) (Xi) over bar (0)) = (1.20 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.21) x 10(-3) where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. |
