英文摘要An IR FEL is being built at IHEP, Beijing, China. The design considerations and progress have been reported earlier. The main tasks undertaken since then were the fabrication of components and testing of various subsystems. Construction work is now almost complete and spontaneous radiation has been observed. In this report, simulation results of optical pulse evolution are discussed. The performance and modification of some subsystems, including the thermionic cathode rf gun injector, the new modulator for longer pulse operation, the linac, the undulator and optical cavity, the beam transport and diagnostics etc. are described.
