本文通过大量考察资料，样品测试，数据统计资料的分析，论述了横断山区第四纪冰川侵蚀地貌和堆积地貌的分布、特征、相关关系等，并对横断山区第四纪冰期问题进行了初步地探讨。

The area of western China, in this paper, incude Qing-Xizang plateau and the wide Significant Heng Duan moutains. It's an area of the most all of Quaternary glacial developing period-times, and of the most old traces in China. This paper introduced cmphasizely mant new informations  whick were obtained by author and other researcher in the area Surveying during recent five years, espcially the information of C-14 isotopic ages was most less obtained first in Qinghai-Xizang areas, then progressively develop toward Heng Duan mountains. This late phenomenon of the area Characters have a difference of geological period.
The various glacial periods are divided by fromold to new as follows:
1. Xixiabangma Ice Age (Q~1^1);
2. Nie  Niexiongai Ice Age (Q~2^1);
3. Tilougsi phase in Ximalaya Ice Age (Q~3^1);
4. Rongbusi phase in Ximalaya Ice Age (Q~3^2);
5. Holocene epoch neoglaction  (Q~4^3).
Theactive range of Quaternary old glacids in western China had extended toward South to North at 26°N line.
