Band on the data derived from the investigation on the spot and the laboratory analyser with C-14, we have cstimated and classified the activities of the quaternary glaied in the Mt Gongga region as four glacial and its corresponding interglacial periods which ah named respectively as yajiageng Glacial period (Middle pleistoene); Nanmenguan Glacial period (Early period of lata pleistocene); Hailuogou Glacial period (Lata period of lata pleistocene) By measuring balch slime peat sediment obtained from the middle layer of glacial series with C14 the results show the its absolute epoch (era) os as 24390±750 years. so we can aiso redivided them into five periods the early stage of hailuogou Glacial period Qing Shi-ban stage; the late stage of Hailuogou Glscisl pariod, Holocene Glacial period (about 3000 years up to now) and the present glacjer.

The glacial series of Moximian Glacial period called by the previous scholars has been measured with C14, and found that its absolute epoch is 7420±90 years, so the evidences show that isn't the sediment of pleistocene Glacial period, but the alluvial and pluvial terrace formed during the period of the early stage of Holocene.
