In This paper presented are formation, harmfulness and distribution of meteorological calamities in Henduan Moutain Rgion. On the basis of determing the indexes of different calamities, described are geographical distribution (or zoneation) charecteristics of these calamities, which are as follows:

1. The calaities within the region show obvious horizontal zonality and notable vertical zonality.

2. There are a great variety of calamities in the region. Some of them happen either simultaneously or alternately.

3. Except drought and frostbite, most of others do not make a large damage are of patches. But they are widespread over the region.

4. The features and scales of all calamities are nearlyosame in the north-middle plateau, and remarkable local different in the sorth-middle moutain area with comples terrain. In general there is bigger impact of all calamities on agriculture production in the sorth-middle than in the north-middle.

A number of measures are recommended for preventing and decreasing meterological calamity damages.

Afforestation may be the most prfitable among them.
