New real-time correlation solar observing system based on GPU for acquiring the deep-integration magnetogram

英文摘要A real-time correlation solar observing system (RCSOS) has been finished recently at Huairou Solar Observing Station (HSOS) in National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC). Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) with Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) parallel programming environment is employed in this system to speed up correlation tracking (CT) process for acquiring deep integration magnetogram and improving the spatial resolution. Observers can choose an interesting area interactively for CT calculation, and then the registration and accumulation of observed images can be processed during the interval period of two images acquisition. In this paper, designing and implementation details of the system are described, and the time costs of all processing modules are analyzed as well. We conclude that the approach is very effective and successful in real-time correlation solar observation at HSOS. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
