英文摘要The energy transfer and infrared to visible frequency upconversion emission for Yb~(3+) /Er~(3+) co-doped tungsten - tellu-rite glasses were experimentally investigated under the conditions of excited at 970 nm and doped with almost the same content of Er~(3+) ions. With the increase of Yb3+ content, the energy transfer efficiency from Yb~(3+) to Er~(3+) increases gradually and the values of efficiency are all between 0. 52~0. 60. Three visible emission bands are observed in Yb~(3+) /Er~(3+)co-doped tungsten -tellurite glasses excited by 970 nm LD. The three peak values of upconversion emission are located at 533, 547 nm and 668 nm, re-spectively. The red emission originates from ~4F_(9/2) ~4I_(15/2) (668 nm) radiative transition, and the two green emissions originate from ~4S_(3/2) ~4I_(15/2) (547 nm) and ~2H_(11/2) ~4I_(15/2) (533 nm) radiative transitions. The red emission and green emission are a two-pho-non process. The more Yb~(3+) ions in glass, the stronger the green emission intensity and the red emission intensity are, and the larger the ratio of red emission intensity to green emission intensity is. This could be attributed to the courses of energy transfer between the excited state Er~(3+) ions and the excited state Yb~(3+) ions.
