英文摘要abroad band polarization independent reflector working in the telecommunication c + l band is proposed with using the guided mode resonance effect of periodic fused silica grating deposited by a layer of germanium medium. it is shown from our calculations that this structure can provide high reflection (r > 98%) and wide angular bandwidth (theta approximate to 4 degrees, r > 98%) for both te and tm polarization over wide spectrum band 1.5-1.6 mu m. furthermore, it is found with rigorous coupled wave analysis (rcwa) that the extremely wide band property for both te and tm polarization is due to the simultaneous excitation of strong modulation guided modes in the design wavelength range.
