中文摘要由于具有超短脉冲宽度和超高脉冲峰值功率,飞秒激光在透明介质内部三维微加工具有独特的优势。而紧聚焦技术的引入,更是极大的增强了激光功率密度,为飞秒激光内部微加工提供了新手段。近年来,通过采用飞秒激光与紧聚焦技术的结合,人们不仅在材料内部观察到了折射率的变化、纳米粒子和纳米晶的析出、微孔洞的产生以及长丝和点串微结构的生长等一系列新现象,而且以此为基础,制备了光波导、微流通道、微光栅和光子晶体等功能性微器件。但另一方面,飞秒激光诱导材料内部变化的机制非常复杂,涉及到强场物理、等离子物理、非线性光学和材料科学等学科的交叉,以致现有的理论还很难对其物理机制进行解释。因此,深入研究紧聚焦条件下飞秒激光在透明介质中诱导的新现象及其机理,不仅在探索三维微纳加工研究方面具有重要的意义,而且可以为基础学科的理论研究提供丰富素材,促进其进一步发展。
英文摘要Femtosecond lasers, for their ultrashort pulse width and ultrahigh peak fluence, have been proved to be powerful tools for inducing 3- dimensional microstructures in kinds of optically transparent materials. With the help of the tightly focused technology by microscope objective, the laser intensity can be greatly enhanced, which is favorable to the 3-dimensional micromaching in materials. Recent years, some new phenomena, such as refractive index change, precipitation of metal nanoparticles and nanocrystals, generation of microvoids, and formation of filaments with microvoids etc. inside transparent materials, are induced by tightly focused femtosecond laser beams. Based on these phenomena, promising applications have been demonstrated for the fabrication of functional microdevices including optical waveguides, fluidic channels, gratings and photonic crystals. However, the mechanisms of femtosecond laser interaction with transparent materialsare so complicated that the existing theories can not explain them well. Therefore, under the conditions of tight focusing, an in-depth study of ultrashort pulsed laser interaction with transparen materials is important not only for 3-dimensional micromachining, but also for the development of fundamental sciences, such as material science, plasma physics, high field physics, and nonlinear optics etc.
