中文摘要 | 本论文介绍了本实验室小型铆原子喷泉中拟采用的提高探测信号信噪比的空心光偶极势阱的一些初步理论与实验研究结果,以及冷原子样品偏振梯度冷却的初步结果。首先在第一章中系统回顾和总结了中性原子的激光冷却和俘获方面的历史发展,讨论各种不同机制,扼要介绍了一些重要实验和主要应用。在第二章中,首先引入经典的谐振子模型来描述光偶极势的一些基本关系,然后在更为严格的处理方式—“缀饰原子”模型中将缀饰态能级的光频移解释为光偶极势,并在此基础上介绍了将上述讨论推广到多能级原子的情况的一些结果。光偶极势在中性原子的俘获方面的应用主要分红移光偶极势阱和蓝移光偶极势阱两部分来介绍,主要包括近年来一些重要的构造光偶极势阱的实验及其结果。第三章重点阐述了本实验室采用的一种新型的构造空心光偶极势阱的方法,分别从几何光学和衍射理论的角度推导了空心光束光强分布,并得到了与之基本符合的实验结果。然后讨论了空心光偶极势阱对冷原子的动力学行为的影响。第四章介绍了正在进行的冷原子团的偏振梯度冷却的实验系统、实验方法和偏振梯度冷却后的冷原子团等效温度测量的初步结果。最后一章总结了全文。 |
英文摘要 | The thesis introduces some preliminary theoretical and experimental results on hollow optical dipole trap, which will be used in our compact rubidium atomic fountain to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of signal detected. The elementary results of cold atomic sample's polarization-gradient cooling is also given. Firstly, the development of laser cooling and trapping of neutral atoms is reviewed in chapter 1 comprehensively. Some various mechanism, important experiments and main applications are introduced and discussed. In chapter 2, the classical oscillator model is introduced to give some basic relations on optical dipole trap firstly. Then in "dressed atom" model, which is a more reasonable way, optical dipole potential can be explained as the light shift of dressed atomic level. The discussion above is generalized to the case of multi-level atoms. The applications of optical dipole trap in the field of laser trapping of neutral atoms include mainly two parts: red/blue detuned optical dipole trap. Some important experiments of various constructions and their results are introduced. In chapter 3, a novel way to construct a hollow optical dipole trap in our laboratory is illuminated in detail. The light intensity distribution of output hollow laser beam is obtained from ray optics and diffraction theory, which is in agreement with the experimental results obtained. Then the dynamical influential of hollow optical dipole trap to cold atoms in it is discussed. In chapter 4, the polarization-gradient cooling (PGC) experiment ongoing is illuminated, including the experimental system envolved, implementary methods and preliminary results of cold atom's equivalent temperature after PGC. The contents of the thesis are summarized in the last chapter. |
