超短超强脉冲激光若干特性的研究

中文摘要超短超强激光技术推动了强场物理的迅猛发展。对这种新型光源特性的全面了解将为进一步深入研究物质世界和开创该技术的应用前影提供了理论指导和技术支持。本论文主要针对与之相关的三个方面的工作进行了较为细致地研究:1. 超短超强激光光束质量的测量和改善光束质量是评估空间品质的重要指标。本文首先在理论上深入论述了光束质量M~2因子的定义及性质,并推广得到实际光束的M~2因子模型,其次讨论了M~2因子测量手段的若干技术细节,然后利用前面的理论重点描述了一套光束像散的校正技术,最后报道了实测结果。2. 大气传输中的自聚焦研究自聚焦行为是强光光学中很常见的现象。本文通过建立涉及克尔效应和多光子电离效应的非线性数学模型,利用数值方法研究了超短强激光脉冲在大气传播中的自聚焦行为。发现了有趣的成环现象,结果表明由自聚焦导致的成丝现象具有间断性,而不是一种稳态的模式。每次轴上的成丝都会由于光场损耗而渐弱,但在克尔效应的作用下离轴区域的能量会间断地补充到光轴上。3. 空气的三次谐波三次谐波是气体介质所允许的最低阶次的频率上转换。本文在理论上讨论了三次谐波发生的机制,列举了若干影响其位相匹配的因素以及提高转换效率的方法,并在实验中研究了空气中的利用毛细管波导的三次谐波发生的一些规律。
英文摘要The development of ultra-short ultra-intense laser pulse technique remarkably stimulated the intense field physics. The general comprehension of the characteristics of such a new light source will provide theoretical instruction and technological support for the farther researches and applications of this technique. In this thesis, three correlated works in this domain are thoroughly described. 1. The measurement and amendment of ultra-short ultra-intense laser beam quality Beam quality is an important indicator for the beam spatial character. The properties of the beam quality M~2 factor are illustrated in detail, which lead to a mathematical model to represent real beam. Some particular aspects of the M~2 factor measurement are deeply discussed. a sort of astigmatism amending method is propounded, and the measurement result is reported. 2. Self-focusing study of the beam propagating in atmosphere Self-focusing is a common phenomenon in intense optics. The behavior of Self-focusing of the ultra-short intense laser pulse propagating in atmosphere was studied particularly through the numeric solution of a time dependent Schodinger equation on account of Kerr effect and MPI effect. The result implies the intermittence, rather than the stable structure, of the filamentation caused by Self-focusing. 3. Third-Harmonic generation in air Third-Harmonic generation is the lowest order of nonlinear frequency upconversion permitted in gas medium. The mechanism of THG is discussed theoretically. Several factors swaying its phase match condition are studied, along with proposed means to improve the conversion rate. Some effects are also studied experimentally.
