The treatment of surfactant wastewater by integration technology of ultrafiltration and coagulation

英文摘要Surfactants which has a complex composition and low molecular weights existing in wastewater will lead to eutrophication when they are discharged into water bodies without treatment. For the treatment of wastewater that contains surfactants, the membrane separation technology is usually adopted. However, the membrane is easily polluted and the cleaning process is usually laborious. So this paper proposed coagulation and membrane separation integrated process for surfactants wastewater. First, the modified polyvinylidene fluoride ultrafiltration membrane was prepared by phase inversion method. The structure and properties of the membrane were tested by scanning electron microscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and contact angle measurement. Then the coupling process of treatment effect was studied by discussing ultraviolet light intensity, water flow rate, pH value, in which sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate solution and polymerization aluminum chloride were considered as surfactant wastewater and coagulant respectively. Results indicated that the prepared titanium dioxide modified membrane had dense-selective layer, finger holes and spongy structure in the cross-section. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results showed that the polyethylene glycol (Mn=6000) and titanium dioxide in modified membrane cover a part of infrared absorption of polyvinylidene fluoride. The prepared titanium dioxide modified membrane had smaller contact angle. The effects of ultraviolet light intensity and water flow velocity on the process were slight, and the coupling process was the best when the pH value was 4.5. Coagulation and membrane separation integrated process is offered as a new technology, and may play important role in domestic and industrial wastewater treatment with large scale, high efficiency and low cost.
