| 英文摘要 | Foot binding was an old Chinese custom for approximately one thousand years in which young girls' feet were tightly bound to restrict their growth and daily activities. Such practice was ended in the early 20th century, yet in remote regions in China, such as in Kunming Province we can still find old ladies with bound feet living in a few villages. Foot binding resulted in lifelong disabilities. As physical activities are associated with quality of bone, the investigators of the present study recruited available old Chinese women with bound feet to evaluate the quality of bone. |
