A Novel Method of Motion Detection by Ultra-Wideband Radar

英文摘要Reliable detection of people hidden behind the wall or rubbles is in great request for rescue, surveillance and security operations. In this paper, we propose anovel energy accumulation based method which is designed for detection of human being's motion by ultra-wideband radar. The proposed method of motiondetection is consisted of three main parts, including noise and stationary-clutter removal, CFAR (Constant False Alarm Rate) threshold-based motion detectionmethod, and a novel method of location and tracking for multiple targets. According to simulation and experimental results, a person behind walls with motion(such as walking) or perturbation (such as breathing) can be clearly detected by the proposed method in low signal to noise and clutter ratio (SNCR) environment. Moreover, multiple targets with a certain interval can be separately identified by the proposed method.
