英文摘要 | Lipid pools, thin fibrous caps, and inflammatory cell infiltrations are known as the main features of vulnerable plaques. However, none of the existing intravascular imaging modalities alone is sufficient to accurately identify and characterize all these features. Thus, it is of essential clinical interests to develop novel multi‐modality intravascular imaging technologies for this purpose. In this study, we report our development of a tri‐modality intravascular imaging technology capable of photoacoustic, ultrasonic, and OCT (optical coherence tomography) imaging, which are fully integrated at both the catheter and system levels. And the developed tri‐modality intravascular imaging technology can potentially image both the structural features (macroscopic and microscopic) and the chemical composition of atherosclerotic plaques for more accurate identification of vulnerable plaques. |
