Simple, effective fabrication of layered carbon nanotube/graphene hybrid field emitters by electrophoretic deposition

英文摘要This paper presents a simple, low-cost, and versatile approach based on the technique of electrophoretic deposition for developing high-performance carbon nanotubes (CNT)/graphene hybrid field emitters and examines their field emission properties. The fabricated CNT/graphene hybrid structure is found to display superior field-emission properties compared to those of pure CNT and pure graphene films. Low turn-on field and threshold field values of 1.0 and 2.3 V/μm, respectively, were demonstrated for the fabricated hybrid structure. The paper also presents for the first time a study of field emission stability in CNT/graphene hybrid material fabricated by electrophoretic deposition. © 2015 American Vacuum Society.(43 refs)
