Indocyanine Green-Loaded Polydopamine Coated Reduced Garphene Oxide for Theranostic Applications

| 英文摘要 | Theranostic nanoagents have attracted an increasing attention in personalized medicine [1]. In this paper, we developed a dopamine-assistant method for the synthesis of reduced grapheme oxide (RGO) with high stability and low cytotoxicity [2]. Indocyanine green (ICG), a NIR dye clinically approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was loaded on the surface of RGO for enhancing the photoacoustic (PA) imaging and photothermal therapy (PTT) abilities of RGO [3]. The results demonstrated that intratumoral injection of ICG-RGO in 4T1 tumor-bearing mice showed a rapid and significant PA signal enhancement in the tumor region, indicating its excellence for PA imaging. Meanwhile, after undergoing an irradiation with a continuous-wave near-infrared laser (808 nm), cancer cells in vivo were efficiently and rapidly killed due to the photothermal effect of ICG-RGO (Figure 1). All the results suggest that ICG loaded polydopamine coated RGO shows a promising application in theranostic nanomedicine. |
