The heliocentric radial velocity of alpha Tauris

| 英文摘要 | High precision heliocentric radial velocity of a Tauris has been obtained using the 2.16 m telescope and its Coude Echelle spectrograph at Xinglong Station, National Astronomical Observatories. Reduction of the spectrum is carried out with the standard packages for Echelle spectra in MIDAS (A widely used data reduction facility in astronomy, which is short for Munich Image Data Analysis System). After finishing standard CCD frame reduction processes, 36 orders are located on the CCD frame. A Th-Ar lamp spectrum is taken for wavelength calibration. The heliocentric radial velocity is determined by comparing the central wavelengths of the lines of the program star with the standard solar static ones, giving their Doppler shifts. Then, corrections for earth's rotation and orbital motion around the Sun are carried out. In order to gain the intrinsic radial velocity of program star, a large number of lines are usually need. In this work, 56 lines are measured, and 22 are eventually adopted considering the errors of the single measurements, which are judged by the Doppler shifts with respect to that of H. (,lambda(0)-656.280 8 nm). The heliocentric radial velocity of a Tauris given by this work is 54.5 km. s(-1), with a precision of sigma-1 km.s(-1). |
