Topological analysis of spin-torque driven magnetic skyrmion formation

英文摘要 | We performed micromagnetic simulations to investigate the exact underlying topological mechanism of skyrmion generation by blowing magnetic chiral stripe domains with a spin current generated by the spin Hall effect. This analysis of the topological dynamics reveals that the generation of a magnetic skyrmion is typically mediated by the creation and annihilation of an antiskyrmion. The threshold current density needed to generate persistent skyrmions depends on the damping constant, perpendicular magnetic field, and size of the sample. Published by AIP Publishing. |
