Multiple attenuation: An approach by incorporating multiple prediction with Radon transform

英文摘要 | We develop a hybrid surface multiple-attenuation scheme by incorporating the parabolic Radon-based method with the approximated first-order prediction of multiples. The resulting scheme generalizes the Radon-based methods to the cases that subsurfaces have small velocity gradients or even velocity reversals. The proposed scheme also effectively decreases the residues of multiples and the damages on primary amplitudes at the near offsets, as occurred in the conventional Radon-based methods. The improvements in the proposed scheme are achieved through introducing an adaptive, flexible mask filter for the mute in the Radon image domain. The mask filter is constructed by comparing the Radon images of the recorded data with those of the approximated first-order prediction. In contrast to the generation of multiples in the surface multiple-attenuation wavefield methods, the approximated first-order prediction of multiples only involves a spatial convolution of the recorded data rather than the iteration or inversion processing. As compared to the conventional Radon-based methods, the main addition in the computational cost is related to the single spatial convolution. Moreover, no human interpretation as used in the mute of the conventional Radon-based methods is needed. Like the wavefield methods, the proposed scheme only attenuates the surface multiples. Synthetic examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. |
