The generalized fractal dimension of seismic records and its applications

| 英文摘要 | Based on fractal theory, the fractal dimension character is construed to the seismic records with different noises. The both of signal part and noise background part in seismic records have a different fractal dimensional range that depends on the measuring rulers used in the calculation, and the fractal dimensional values are relative with the measuring rulers. Therefore, a new concept that is generalized fractal dimension can be used to calculate the fractal dimension of seismic record. The results of numerical calculation indicate that the algorithm of generalized fractal dimension shows a strong resistance to noise. Some effective examples to pick seismic first arrivals and continued signals are given in this paper. |
