| 英文摘要 | There are many petroliferous basins in the southern South China Sea (SCS) which bear considerable potential of oil and gas resources. This study carried out tectonic and thermal evolution modeling on typical seismic/geology profiles, using the multi-stage finite extensional strain rate method. We compare the modeling results with the northern SCS marginal basins. In the southern margin of the SCS, there has experienced complex collision, extrusion and strike-slip during the late Cenozoic, in contrast to small-scale extension in the northern SCS, which caused different tectonic and thermal histories in both regions. |
