英文摘要The dynamics of Bloch electrons moving in a two-band superlattice driven by a dc-ac electric field is investigated. We show rigorously that (i) when the matching ratio between the Bloch frequency and the ac frequency is an integer, the spectrum is that of two quasi-energy bands; (ii) when the matching ratio is a rational, the spectrum is two interspaced fractional Wannier-Stark ladders; and (iii) each of these fractional ladders has an energy dispersion due to the interband coupling. We illustrate our findings by explicit calculations of the spectrum in the high-frequency case, and show how the energy dispersion is tuned by the ac field strength and how band collapse occurs.
