Experimental Investigation and Numerical Simulation of One Novel Incremental Bending Process

| 英文摘要 | The traditional metal plate bending process is difficult to meet the requirements of modern shipbuilding industry, and this paper adopts a new incremental bending process for manufacturing metal plate based on minimum energy principle and dieless forming. This process uses a set of punches and a series of highly adjustable and head rotatable supports to complete the punching process by changing the punch path and support mode, so that the target metal plate would reach the desired shape. Undoubtedly, this forming process has a very wide application prospect in the field of complex curved steel sheet forming. In order to further verify the reliability of the process, this paper takes the combination of numerical simulation and experimental study on different desired shape. The results show that the method is effective and reliable, and the desired shape can be obtained by the appropriate punch path and support mode. |
