Double ionization of neon in elliptically polarized femtosecond laser fields

| 英文摘要 | We present a joint experimental and theoretical investigation of the correlated electron momentum spectra from strong-field double ionization of neon induced by elliptically polarized laser pulses. A significant asymmetry of the electron momentum distributions along the major polarization axis is reported. This asymmetry depends sensitively on the laser ellipticity. Using a three-dimensional semiclassical model, we attribute this asymmetry pattern to the ellipticity-dependent probability distributions of recollision time. Our work demonstrates that, by simply varying the ellipticity, the correlated electron emission can be two-dimensionally controlled and the recolliding electron trajectories can be steered on a subcycle time scale. |
