英文摘要 | Comparative studies on macrozoobenthic communities under varying degrees of eutrophication and sediment characteristics were conducted in a Chinese large shallow lake (Lake Taihu). Twelve sites within the lake were sampled in September 2009. A total of forty species were recorded, which belonged to 22 families, 7 classes and 4 phyla. The mean values of abundance, species richness, and biodiversity of macrozoobenthos were 1722 ind./m(2), 7.7 species/grab, and 1.73 grab(-1) Cluster analysis clearly showed that the structure of macrozoobenthic community varied among the areas with different trophic states. The southeast zone was dominated by macrophytes. And it was inhabited by the highest species richness of macrophyte-associated assemblages (e.g., snails). On the other hand, as dominated by algae, the northwest zone showed the lowest species richness and highest macrofaunal abundance, with a dominance of Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri and Tubifex tubifex. Futhermore, the central part of the lake was dominated by Corbicula fluminea, polychaetes Capitella sp. and Nephtys oligobranchia, which somewhat revealed marine affinities. Thus, significant intra-habitat heterogeneity of macrozoobenthic communities was observed within the lake, which corresponded to site-specific differences of trophic levels, macrophytes and sediment characteristics. Notably, the structure of macrozoobenthic communities was also effective in assessing eutrophication of different areas even within a large shallow lake such as Lake Taihu.; Comparative studies on macrozoobenthic communities under varying degrees of eutrophication and sediment characteristics were conducted in a Chinese large shallow lake (Lake Taihu).
