Health diagnosis and functional rehabilitation for seismic-damaged tunnel suffered from the Wenchuan earthquake: A case study

| 英文摘要 | The health diagnosis and functional rehabilitation of seismic-damaged tunnel are key issues in recovering traffic lines for seismic relief and recovery. Taking a damaged tunnel in the Wenchuan earthquake as an example, the methods of diagnosis and rehabilitation are exposed. In-situ non-destructive test showed that the seismic damage of this tunnel included concrete cracks, hidden cavities and strength deterioration of lining. Several causes induced in these kinds of seismic diseases were discussed. The rehabilitation technique, which does not break off transportation, was also put forward. This technique includes two steps: the urgent reinforcement for avoiding short-term instability of the tunnel and the comprehensive restoration for the purpose of perdurable safety. This study can provide useful clues for stability assessment and reinforcement of tunnel in highly seismic region. |
