Time-dependent characteristics of sandstone with a single pre-cut crack under chemical corrosion

英文摘要 | This paper presents recent progress in experimental studies of time-dependent characteristics of sandstone with a single pre-cut crack under chemical corrosion. A series of tests have been conducted on sandstone specimens with a single pre-cut crack soaking in different chemical solutions. Based on the testing results, the parameters including mass and longitudinal elastic wave velocity of sandstone and pH indicators of chemical solutions which change with time are analyzed. It has been revealed that the mass of sandstone has no relation with the change of composition and concentration of chemical solutions. The erosion of sandstone in certain time will arrive at a relative equilibrium state in a limited chemical environment. The soaking solutions, regardless of what the initial pH value is, will eventually tend to neutral pH value. The comparison of composition and concentration of chemical solutions indicates that the solutions' pH value makes the greatest impact on sandstone. The higher the pH value is, the greater is the influence of chemical solutions on damage of sandstone. The pH-V-P curves of sandstone can be divided into two types according to their characteristics. The VP value which decreases gradually with chemical solution's pH value is close to the neutral one. The process in which the VP value of sandstone decreases shows that the physical and mechanical properties of sandstone gradually deteriorate. |
