英文摘要 | In this study, a performance-based seismic stability assessment approach specified for large underground cavern complexes is proposed on the basis of the incremental dynamic analysis method. First of all, ground motion records are selected from the PEER-NGA database to provide optimal input seismic ground motion for IDA. Intensity Measure and Damage Measure suitable for large underground cavern complex are discussed. The performance objectives are classified based on the function and importance of the cavern as serviceability and safety. Reference earthquake motions are specified for each objective as Operating Basis Earthquake and Safety Evaluation Earthquake respectively. The underground cavern complex of the Baihetan hydropower plant is taken as a case study to illustrate the application of the proposed assessment approach. The results show the proposed approach can evaluate the performance of the underground cavern complex during earthquake, with the probability of ground motions taken into consideration. Further probabilistic analysis can be conducted on the seismic stability and a reliable criterion of seismic design for underground cavern complex can be established. |
