英文摘要This paper presents an improved transfer coefficient method for dealing with complex failure modes in slope stability analysis. The slope failure is comprised of two parts, i.e., a sliding set in the upper part and a toppling set in the lower part of the slope. The influences of the sliding parts on the stability of the toppling blocks are considered. Meantime, the cohesive forces at block bases are taken into account. In the numerical analysis, the failure modes, sliding failure or toppling failure, of each block in the lower part are judged, and then the normal forces between the block interfaces are determined based on the failure mode. A spreadsheet procedure is developed and the practical engineering case is illustrated. Numerical results show that the method is very efficient and considerably straightforward for analyzing sliding-toppling of rock slope.
