英文摘要 | The current practice of draining gas. from coal measures is drilling, both in coal seams as well as in the surrounding stratafication. The effectiveness of the drainage operation changes from location to location because of the varying geological conditions. A number of factors influence the success of gas drainage. Intrusions, faults, and folds can substantially influence the effectiveness of gas draining operations. In this paper, the effects of gas drainage on gas pressure in coal seams and the gas flow process induced by gas drainage in the coal seam is numerically studied by using a gas flow coupled Rock Failure Process Analysis code. The study has shown that the numerical mode employed in this paper is capable of realistically simulating the complex process of methane emission and flow around longwall panels in coal mines and can guide the decision about how to take a measure to deal with the coal methane in the coal seam and what mining methods are employed to excavate the coal seam. The modeling approach provides a basis for evaluating methane inflow and control measures. The successful reproducing of the experimentally and in-situ observed gas drainage phenomena with a numerical method implies that our understanding of the mechanisms of gas drainage to control outbursts has reached a more reasonable level, which in turn will help us to make further progresses in an better understanding of the mechanism of instantaneous outbursts and controlling and preventing the occurrence of instantaneous outbursts induced by underground mining. This approach will result in increased safety for mine workers in longwall mines by improving our ability to predict methane inflows and enabling more effective design of methane control measures. The pursuit of research on this topic may lead to more certain and better controlled enhancement of gas flows in methane drainage schemes. |
