英文摘要 | The surfaces of unbound granular materials are often rough and a discrete element modeling of rough granulates is very important to understand the behavior of unbound granular materials. But the existing particle flow modeling rarely consider the effect of particle size distribution on mechanical properties of unbound granular materials. This paper presents an absolute distribution simulation method to generate a three-dimensional particle flow model. In contrast to the conventional particle generation method, the present method was incorporated into a DEM code to investigate the permanent strain response of the granular materials of different particle size distribution. A series of numerical simulation results has been conducted to get the optimum particle size distribution of granular materials under cyclic loading. The results showed that the particle size distribution was significantly correlated with the permanent deformation of unbound granular materials. |
