中文摘要In this paper, the limitation of applying the Munk-Anderson and turbulent closure (TC) models to the turbulent numerical simulation onshore is discussed. The renormalization group (RNG) model is a most powerful computational tool in determining eddy viscosity coefficient based on renormalization group theory. It not only overcomes the above models' limitation, but also shows the physical phenomena such as anisotropy and backscatter in the turbulent motion. The RNG model and TC model are introduced respectively into the three-dimensional shelf sea model-HAMSOM model-to determine the vertical eddy viscosity coefficient, and the simulation results based on RNG model are shown to be better than those based on TC model. According to the RNG model's results, some characteristics of the tidal current in Qiongzhou Channel in summer are analysed. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
