On the sulfur tolerance of Pd/Ceria for methanol synthesis from syngas

中文摘要the conversion of sulfur contaminated syngas to ch3oh over pd/ceo2 and pd/al2o3 catalysts was studied at 513 k and 3.0 mpa. while the same 16.5% ch3oh yield (co basis) was obtained over pd/ceo2 in sulfur-free and contaminated (30 ppm h2s) syngas, the activity of pd/al2o3 declined rapidly with only 3 ppm h2s present yielding 2.2% ch3oh after 100 h. h2s addition also reduced the co2 and hydrocarbon yields over pd/ceo2 to less than 2% in total. xps, xrf and xrd analysis suggests that h2s is not trapped but oxidized to some extent over pd/ceo2.
