| 英文摘要 | Along dongjiu-lulang section of northwestern edge of the eastern himalayan syntaxis there is a set of landslides, which consists of quaternary sediments. lulang river, the third order tributary of the yarlu tsangpu river is a typical mountain stream with a gradient of about 4.56%. it is controlled by the dongjiu-milin fault which is at the westernmost edge of the eastern himalayan syntaxis, and moderate to strong earthquakes (ms = 4.0-5.9), frequently occur in this region. in 1987, a landslide occurred on the left bank of the lulang river, south of dongjiu and dammed it. in 1991, two landslides occurred on the right bank of the same river and dammed it again. in 1998, slopes on both sides slid simultaneously resulting in more than 34 landslides or landslide groups destroying 10 km long highway. the triggering of landslides and their recurrence in a wide area can be attributed to stream erosion-(lulang river erosion) and road cuts at the slope toes in recent times as well as the climate, particularly heavy rainfalls. numerous unstable slope masses are progressively joining together and may form more landslides near the lulang river in the near future. |
