Numerical simulation of a three-cavity gyroklystron amplifier by using a self-consistent code

英文摘要In this paper, the preliminary design of a ka-band, three-stage fundamental gyroklystron amplifier is presented. the beam-wave interaction in the gyroklystron is studied by using a self-consistent nonlinear simulation code and the bunching picture of the electron is demonstrated. the gain and electron efficiency for this gyroklystron amplifier are calculated. the effect of various parameters, such as beam voltage, beam current, input power, electron guiding center radius and drift tube length on the electron efficiency and gain are studied. the results show that this designed gyroklystron can produce an output peak power of about 300kw with 39% efficiency.
