英文摘要Cylindrical yb3+-doped bagd2(moo4)(4) crystals (20mm dia., 25mm height) were grown using the czochralski method. absorption and emission spectra have been investigated at room temperature. the strongest absorption peak at 977nm has a fwhm of 6nm, and the absorption cross section sigma(ab) is 3.3 x 10(-20) cm(2) at 977nm. the broad emission band with a peak at 1005nm has a fwhm of 45nm. the fluorescence lifetime is 0.59ms. on the basis of this study, yb3+-doped bagd2(moo4)(4) may be regarded as a potential solid-state laser material for diode-laser pumping.
