Nitration of benzene to nitrobenzene over nanosized stannic oxide catalysts

英文摘要 | A series of sno(2) catalysts were prepared by the precipitation method using different precipitants. the synthesized catalysts were characterized by x-ray diffraction, n(2) adsorption, transmission electron microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. their catalytic activity was studied in a liquid-phase reaction system of benzene nitration. the results showed that sno(2) particles prepared by the precipitation method exhibited higher catalytic activity than the commercial sno(2), while nanosize sno(2) crystals with an average size about 10 nm, showed a high specific surface area and fairly good catalytic activity. calcination temperature was an important factor that influenced the crystal size and catalyst activity. the optimal calcination temperature was 400-500 degrees c. the influences of catalyst amount, reaction temperature, and reaction time on the yield of nitrobenzene were also investigated. the yield of nitrobenzene reached 90.6% with almost 100% selectivity after 7 h reaction at 90 degrees c and nitric acid/benzene volume ratio = 2.0. |
