Efficient Energy Transfer from Yb3+-Mn2+ Dimer to Er3+ in TiO2 Nanophosphor Prepared by Sol-Gel Method

英文摘要The 1 mol% Er3+ doped TiO2 nanophosphors with 5 mol% Yb3+ and 2 mol% Mn2+ codoping have been prepared by sol-gel method at the sintering temperature of 700 degrees C. The addition of Yb3+ and Mn2+ has no effect on the phase structure of TiO2. By Yb3+ and Mn2+ codoping, the selective green upconversion emission of Er3+ doped TiO2 was enhanced obviously under a 976 am laser diode excitation. The two-photon absorption process was responsible for the green upconversion emission of Er3+-Yb3+-Mn2+ codoped TiO2. It indicates that the enhanced green upconversion emission of Er3+-Yb3+-Mn2+ codoped TiO2 arises from the efficient energy transfer with the vertical bar F-2(7/2), 4T(1g)> state of Yb3+-Mn2+ dimer to the F-4(7/2) level of Er3+.
