英文摘要Atomic force microscope(AFM) can be used to investigate the surface structures of different kinds materials, and N-(4-nitrophenyl)-(L)-prelinol (NPP),as an organic second-order nonlinear optical crystal, has very large nonlinear efficiency. With our home-made AFM instrument, the topographic images of NPP surface have been obtained, The NPP crystal was grown in acetone by solvent evaporation The APM results indicates that the surface structure of NPP (001) surface is in well agreement with the hulk structure determined by X-ray diffraction experiments without any reconstruction.
