Effect of Probe Structure on Temperature Sensitivity of Oxygen Luminescent Sensors

英文摘要 | Based on the oxygen quenching of the luminescent intensity of the excited chromophoric probes in pressure sensitive paint (PSP), oxygen luminescent sensors are particularly of interest to the oxygen concentration or partial pressure measurements in aerodynamic prototype testing. The temperature sensitivity Delta T of the luminescent intensity response of PSP described by Stern-Volmer costant K(sv) will interfere with the measurement accuracy of PSP technique in wind tunnel applications. This article reports the effect of the pyrene derivative structure, which was synthesized from 1-pyrenylbutanol (PyBO) or 1-pyrenylmethanol (PyMO) with (R(1))(2) R(2)SiCl, where R(1) and R(2) are alkyl chains of different length, on the Delta(T) of PSP intensity response and K(sv) at the measured pressure from 0.2-1.0 x 10(-1) MPa and temperature range of 0-60 degrees C. The results showed that the Delta(T) and K(sv) of the pyrene derivatives relate to the alkyl chain length bound to PyBO or PyMO. The longer the chain length of the substitute bound the pyrene ring, the higher the K(sv). Moreover, the data also indicated that the more the K(sv), the more the Delta T of the sensing film containing the pyrene derivatives synthesized from PyBO or PyMO. Those may be deduced a decrease in the decay rate constant k(nr) for the radiationless process of the pyrene derivatives because the longer alkyl chain bound on PyBO or PyMO leads to the configuration entropy increase of the derivative molecules. |
