英文摘要This paper is devoted to discuss a new method to directly extract the information of the geometric self-absorption correction through the measurement of characteristic gamma radiation emitted spontaneously from nuclear fissile material. The numerical simulation tests show that this method can extract the purely original information needed for nondestructive assay method by the gamma -ray spectra to be measured, even though the geometric shape of the sample and materials between sample and detector are not known in advance.
