Pseudorapidity fluctuations of extremely high multiplicity events in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions

| 英文摘要 | The pseudorapidity fluctuations of extremely high multiplicity events measured in cosmic-ray emulsion experiments are investigated by using the thermalized cylinder model. The Monte Carlo results are compared with the experimental data from 4A TeV Si-AgBr and 100A TeV Ca-C collisions. Our calculation shows that the large fluctuations in the pseudorapidity distributions of the two events in the Japanese-American cooperative emulsion experiment can be qualitatively reproduced by a 'purely' statistical method. |
