Biological dosimetry of complex ion radiation fields

英文摘要We report on a set of cell survival experiments performed in complex field combinations of therapeutic C-12 ion beams. CHO cells were exposed to the superposition of two or three fields of C-12 ions arranged in a similar way to real patient treatments. Two-dimensional survival distributions were measured and compared with the predictions of the TRiP98 treatment planning system. Good agreement was found in general. In particular the method of tissue sparing using dose ramps could be verified.
