The Influence of BaCeO3 Doping on the Oxygen Distribution, Inhomogeneity and Superconducting Properties of YBa2Cu3O7-delta+0.1mol Y2O3 Superconductors

英文摘要 | A synthesis of polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O7-delta (Y123, YBCO) + 0.1mol Y2O3+ x wt % BaCeO3(x=0.0,0.5,1.0,2.0, and 5.0) superconductors has been done in air via a standard solidstate reaction technique. The effects of BaCeO3 addition on the microstructure, the elemental distribution, and the superconducting transition temperature were systematically investigated through X-ray Diffraction (XRD), (EDS) and (EELS), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) technique. It was found that when Y2O3 was added to the YBCO, the samples have a little of Y-211 formations and look like spherical or ellipsoidal shape. According to SEM, XRD, EDS, and resistivity measurements, we observed that the BaCeO3 doping concentration reached to 5 %, the morphology of those samples exhibits a granular structure and has a big gap among particles and becomes inhomogeneous, but Y and O distribution basically remains unchanged. When the BaCeO3 doping concentration > 1 %, the normal state resistivity of the samples has changed from metallic to semi-conducting behavior as the transition temperature of the samples decreases and transition width broadens. These results can be interpreted by the decrease of oxygen content, the variation of defects, intra-grain disorders and weak-link. We can draw a conclusion from this experiment that different performance was optimum when the doping amount of BaCeO3 was 1.0 %. |
