Nuclear neutron densities and parity violating electron scattering

英文摘要Parity violating electron scattering is studied systematically in the relativistic Eikonal approximation and the partial-wave analysis method. The parity violating asymmetries are calculated using the proton and neutron densities of nuclei as input, which are produced by the relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory. The behaviour of the parity violating asymmetries for Ca isotopes is analyzed. The results show that parity violating electron scattering is very sensitive to the difference between the proton and neutron density distributions. As an application, the parity violating asymmetries for some neutron-rich stable nuclei, such as Sn-124, with the neutron skin-type and halo-type distributions are calculated. It is found that the parity violating electron scattering can be used to verify the type of the neutron density distribution for neutron-rich stable nuclei.
