Large cylindrical scattering chamber for general purpose

| 英文摘要 | In this paper its structure and function were described. The total length of the chamber, the diameter of the cylinder, the maximum flight distance in forward angle and flight distance in periphery angle are 6.4, 2.4, 4.5 and 1.0m respectively. The spherical detector carriage, the movable detector carriages and the carriage for supporting the plastic scintillation detector wall were arranged around the target, in the middle and in the front of the chamber respectively. Samples can be placed in the Faraday-cup for radiation. Eight turbopumps with pumping rate of 1500L/s each were used to obtain high vacuum. The working vacuum is 4 mPa and the up-limit vacuum can reach up to 0.8 mPa. The results show that the chamber can meet the demands for analysing the nuclear reaction products with medium energy and has been put into use. |
