Experimental study of high-spin states in odd-odd nuclei around 160-180 mass region

英文摘要In recent years, high-spin states in a series of deformed odd-odd nuclei Lu-162, Ta-170 Re-174, Ir-176,Ir-178,Ir-180 and Au-182 have been studied in corporation with the researchers in the IMP (Institute of Modem Physics, CAS), CIAE (China Institute of Atomic Energy) and JAERI (Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute). The experimental results are reviewed in this report. The interesting phenomenon of low-spin signature inversion in both the pih(11/2)circle timesvi(13/2) and pih(9/2)circle timesvi(13/2) configurations has been systematically studied and discussed for the nuclei in this mass region. A possible low-spin signature inversion is suggested for the pi(13/2)circle timesvi(13/2) structure in Au-182,Au-184 and the limited experimental data seem to support such a suggestion. The gradual alignment gains with rotation are reported, for the first time, in the pih(11/2)circle timesvi(13/2) bands of odd - odd Ir-178,Ir-180. An unexpected smaller band crossing frequency is observed in Ir-178 (most probably in the pid(5/2)circle timesvi(9/2) configuration). These anomalies may be associated with the configuration-dependent deformations and/or neutron pairing.
